Zambia

Overview

The Walking-Safari Heartland

Zambia is the walking-safari heartland of Southern Africa — remote bush camps, veteran guides, and a quieter stretch of the Zambezi than its Victoria Falls side.

South Luangwa’s density of wildlife is matched by very few places on the continent, and our retreats here lean into that remoteness — slower, wilder, and further from the crowds. Beyond South Luangwa, the Lower Zambezi offers quieter canoe safaris beneath the escarpment, Livingstone puts riverside lodges on the Zambian side of the Falls, Kafue National Park trades crowds for sheer scale, and the remote Liuwa Plain draws a wildebeest migration matched by very few places outside East Africa.
